2 bands to play at CoatFest charity event at Westside Community Center Oct. 6

       The Bill Emery Band (brass septet) and the 14-piece Stardust Jazz Orchestra will perform for CoatFest 2018 at the Westside Community Center, 1628 W. Bijou St., Saturday, Oct. 6.
       The third annual event will run from 2 to 5 p.m.
       Seeking donations of winter apparel for charity, CoatFest is a partnership between Westside CARES and the Westside Community Center.
       The price of admission is $10 cash, non-perishable food or an adult winter coat.
       Update: The Community Center has announced that from Oct. 1 to 6, there will be a large bin in its main building to take donations of cold-weather apparel. “After you donate, remember to stop by the main office to get your free admission ticket to CoatFest,” a center press release states.
