July 7, 2018
Free classes intended for people at or near retirement age are being offered through October by the Area Agency on Aging at 14 S. Chestnut St.
The location is the lower floor of the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) building, which has a large parking lot in front.
Class titles, dates and times appear below.
       - Medicare 101 (explaining Medicare benefits and plans): July 16 and Aug. 20 from 9 to 11 a.m.; and July 26 and Aug. 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
       - Social Security 101 (explaining eligibility and age/work rules affecting benefits): Sept. 19 and Oct. 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Because class sizes are limited, advance registration is required. For more information, the phone for the Agency on Aging's Senior Information Center is 471-2096.
Funded through the federal Older Americans Act and the State of Colorado, the Area Agency on Aging offers its programs through the PPACG, a regional facility that serves El Paso, Teller and Park counties.
