No slacking off for events on Westside in months of July-August

The duo of Wilson & McKee performed in the Westside Community Center for an Old Colorado City Library program in March. Under the heading of "Summer Fun," three more library-planned events are scheduled at the center in July.

  • Family Fourth - July 4. Features historical reenactors and patriotic music at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. Admission fee.
  • COS Rodeo series - July 4, 18 and 25; Aug. 1; finals Aug. 11. Local competitors, western activities at Norris-Penrose Event Center. Admission fee.
  • Summer Fun - July 6, 13 and 20. Old Colorado City Library children's programs at Westside Community Center. Free.
  • Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo - July 11-14. Professional competition at Norris-Penrose Event Center. Fee.
  • Pikes Peak Jazz and Swing Society concerts - July 11 and 18; and Aug. 1, Aug. 8, Aug. 22 and Aug. 29. All but July 11 (Bancroft Park) are at Bear Creek Regional Park. Free.
  • Organization of Westside Neighbors (OWN)'s annual picnic - July 15 in Bancroft Park. Fee for food.
  • Old Colorado City Historical Society's Tunnel Tales - July 22. Admission fee.
  • Fiddles, Vittles & Vino - July 29. Bluegrass-style music and food-drink sampling at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. Admission fee.
  • Gold Hill Mesa's Music on the Mesa concerts - July 14 and Aug. 11. Free.
  • Founders Day celebration - Aug. 12 at Old Colorado City History Center. Free.
  • Westside Community Center's annual picnic - Aug. 18 at center. Free.
  • Customs & Classics Car Show - Aug. 19 in Old Colorado City. Free.
  • Happy Trails BBQ - Aug. 24 at Bear Creek Nature Center. Admission fee.
