Historic Alliance presentation at Old Colorado City History Center Jan. 8

       “A Look at Historic Preservation” is the title of a program Friday, Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. in the Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St. NOTE: This event was canceled due to adverse weather Jan. 8.
       John Haney, William Boddington and Gordon Anderson of the Historic Preservation Alliance will explain the Colorado Springs nonprofit's mission, goals, education, projects and events. Also, there will be a book-signing by Anderson, who took the photos to accompany the recently published “Historic Homes of Colorado Springs and Vicinity,” written by his mother, the late Helen McIntire Anderson.
       The center is owned and managed by the volunteer Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS). Admission for non-members is $5.
       For information about the program, or how to become an OCCHS member, call 636-1225, or visit the center/museum/bookstore during its winter operating hours, Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
