Space Foundation's Discovery Center celebrates 5 years with free admission Oct. 7

In celebration of its five-year anniversary, the Space Foundation is offering a free day for its Discovery Center Saturday, Oct. 7.
The hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Discovery Center is at 4425 Arrowswest Drive, off Garden of the Gods Road.
Among the center's ongoing offerings are the Northrop Grumman Science Center, El Pomar Space Gallery and Lockheed Martin Space Systems Education Center. Interactive activities include the Science on a Sphere, Mars Robotic Rover Driving and Space Arts and Crafts.
Started in 1983, the Space Foundation provides advocacy and education regarding space travel. The internationally scoped nonprofit organization had operated in a 12,000-square-foot building at 310 S. 14th St. for nine years before relocating to the 45,715-square-foot Arrowswest space in mid-2011. The Discovery Center opened in the fall of 2012.
For more information, call 576-8000 or go to the Discovery Center's web page: discoverspace.org.
