Free mental-health first-aid training classes offered at County Building Aug. 13, 2018Free mental-health first-aid training will be offered once a month through November at the El Paso County Citizens Service Center. The all-day opportunities are being offered by Mental Health First Aid USA through the Colorado Springs chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). According to a NAMI-CS press release, the course “teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.” The dates (all on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) are Aug. 24, Sept. 21, Oct. 26 and Nov. 16. The location will be the Nautilus Room of the Citizens Service Center, 1675 Garden of the Gods Road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is required at mhfaco.org.
