Volunteer tutors sought 2 days a week for Children's Literacy Center

The Children's Literacy Center is seeking volunteers, ages 14 and older, to tutor children in reading.
Those interested can sign up for training sessions that will start being offered Aug. 23. There is no charge.
Tutoring for each child will be on a one-to-one basis, two hours a week, according to Pamela Polke, director of the nonprofit agency, located on the Westside at 2928 Straus Lane, Suite 100.
Tutors are trained in the Peak Reader curriculum, which helps children in grades 1 through 6 who have fallen below their class level in reading.
For more information, call 471-8672 or e-mail pamela@childrensliteracycenter.org.
