Call for volunteer one-to-one tutors in Literacy Center's summer session

May 17, 2018
The local Children's Literacy Center (CLC) is seeking volunteers and students for one-to-one tutoring this summer. The session will be from June 18 to July 28.
Tutors can be as young as 14 years old. Training is provided through the center's Peak Reader curriculum. Each tutor works with one child for two hours a week.
The program is aimed at helping children who are reading below their class level (grades 1 through 6).
CLC is a nonproft organization, founded in Colorado Springs and headquartered at 2928 Straus Lane, Suite 100.
“From its 1991 establishment as a Junior League project with one tutoring location and 62 children, CLC has evolved into a statewide nonprofit that works with over 600 students per year and operates more than 12 tutoring sites across the state,” a press release states.
For more information, call 471-8672 or e-mail center director Pamela Polke at pamela@childrensliteracycenter.org.
