April 15, 2018
Free mental-health first-aid training will be offered in April, May and June at the El Paso County Citizens Service Center.
The all-day opportunities are being offered by Mental Health First Aid USA through the Colorado Springs chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
According to a NAMI-CS press release, the course “teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses.” The first of the classes will be Friday, April 27, the next Friday, May 18 and the last Friday, June 22.
All three classes will be in the Nautilus Room of the Citizens Service Center, 1675 Garden of the Gods Road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Class size is limited and registration is required. To register online, go to mhfaco.org. For more information, call 473-8477 or e-mail info@namicos.org.
