AARP tax assistance at Westside Community Center free to public through April 15

Jan. 23, 2019
Free tax-preparation assistance begins Thursday, Jan. 31 and will continue through April 15 at the Westside Community Center. The dates/times are Mondays and Thursdays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The center is at 1628 W. Bijou St.
Called the AARP Foundation Tax Aide, the service is provided by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). However, “you don't have to be an AARP member and there is no age requirement,” explains spokesperson Susan Griffin in a press release.
Walk-ins and appointments are accepted, she adds, noting that the AARP volunteers “are trained and IRS-certified each year to ensure they know and understand the latest changes to the U.S. Tax Code.”
For more information or to make an appointment, call 749-6138.
