City-wide preservation group at Old Colorado City History Center Jan. 13
The location will be the Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St.
The scheduled speakers are John Haney and Tim Boddington. Also planned is a book-signing for the Alliance-supported 2015 publication, "Historic Homes of Colorado Springs and Vicinity," written by the late Helen M. Anderson with photos by her son Gordon.
According to the Alliance website, the volunteer group focuses on preserving the city's “unique and irreplaceable heritage - cultural, historical, architectural, archaeological, and natural - a heritage that is a local and a national treasure.”
Admission to the program is free to Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS) members and $5 to non-members.
To get more information, including how to become a member, drop by the center or call when it's open. The facility's museum and bookstore are free to the public except during programs; winter hours are currently in effect - Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
