Several GoG Visitor Center events
A “Full Moon Hike in the Garden” is an offering for the public Saturday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m.
It will offer a series of gui-ded hikes starting from the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center, 1805 N. 30th St. The cost is $5 for adults, $12 for families. The hikes are organized by the Friends of the Garden of the Gods (FOGG), the Trails and Open Spaces Coalition and Visitor Center, with proceeds to benefit their “educational and conservation mission,” a press release states. Also upcoming at the GoG Visitor Center: Greccio aided by state Greccio Housing, a Westside-based nonprofit that provides affordable rental housing, has been awarded $1,046,000 by the Colorado State Housing Board to buy and fix up a local apartment property. Funds were awarded through the state's Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Greccio plans to purchase an older apartment property in the central part of Colorado Springs, with a closing date in the next two to three months, according to Jill Gaebler of Greccio.
