8 ways to ‘make a difference’ on Westside

Eight Westside locations are among more than 70 region-wide that are targeted for fix-ups or clean-ups Oct. 21-22 by hundreds of volunteers as part of the Southern Colorado Make a Difference Day event.
Some 215 volunteers are needed for the Westside sites, according to event sponsor Volunteer Pikes Peak, which is a collaboration between the Pikes Peak United Way and the Center for Nonprofit Excellence.
Although advance information has indicated an Oct. 7 cut-off, project spokesperson Maggie Brubaker said volunteers can continue to sign up, including on the workdays themselves. “We won't turn anybody away,” she said.
