Pettit to talk on lives of Ute Indian women

       The everyday life of the Ute Indians - specifically the many roles of the women -will be addressed by area author and historian Jan Pettit Friday, Oct. 14 in a program titled “I Don't Do Windows!” at the Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St.
       Beginning at 11 a.m., her talk will include illustrations and photographs. There is no admission fee, but donations are accepted for the volunteer Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS), which operates the History Center gift shop and museum.
       Pettit wrote the book, “The Utes: The Mountain People,” has published many articles, and is one of the founders of the Ute Pass Historical Society
