RTA crews to return for bridge repairs

       Bridge work has been partially completed at two Westside bridges that are getting attention this fall under the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (RTA) program.
       Mary Scott, city RTA spokesperson, said the conractor is working on 13 other bridges in town as well, and will eventually return to the 21st Street bridge over Fountain Creek and the Centennial Boulevard bridge over Douglas Creek to accomplish the other repair work that is required - including debris and silt removal from the downstream channel below the Centennial bridge and extension of a 30-inch storm drain at 21st.
       In other RTA up-dates, alley paving was continuing on the Westside this week. Work is scheduled at the following alleys:
  • From 8 S. 30th St. to Dead End West between Colorado Ave. and Pikes Peak Ave.
  • From 30th St. behind 3002 Pikes Peak Ave. between Pikes Peak Ave. and Kiowa St.
  • From 112 30th St. to 31st St. between Kiowa St. and Bijou St.
  • From 31st St. behind 3003 Platte Ave. to 30th St. between Bijou St. and Platte Ave.
  • From 30th St. behind 3003 Uintah St. to Pleasant St. between Uintah St. and Platte Ave.
  • From 3032 Platte Ave. to Williamette Ave. between Pleasant St. to 31st St.
  • From 3044 Williamette Ave. to Fontanero St. between Pleasant St. to 31st St.
