Farmers’ Market hits ‘peak’

It's the “peak of the season” for the Westside Farmers' Market reports Frank Schmidt.
Schmidt is president of the Pikes Peak Farmers' Market, which coordinates the gathering of growers on 24th Street next to Bancroft Park every Saturday morning.
Most types of produce are still on sale - with apples especially coming into season, he said, and fall-season offerings, such as gourds and pumpkins, becoming available.
About 25 vendors, mostly selling locally grown fruits and vegetables, set up Saturdays on 24th Street from about 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market is scheduled to continue through Oct. 23.
