Peak ride to raise money in Westside cycle guide’s memory

A Memorial Ride for Kurt Rogers will be held on Pikes Peak Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005. For a $100 donation, participants will mountain bike from the 14,115-foot summit of Pikes Peak down the Pikes Peak highway.
The event will commemorate the life of Kurt Rogers, a Colorado Springs resident, who died mountain biking in Moab, Utah, last May.
The ride is sponsored by Challenge Unlimited, 204 S. 24th St., an adventure outfitter where Rogers had once been a guide. Ride donations will benefit the Search and Rescue team of Grand County, Utah, which helped in the search for Rogers. All participants must preregister by calling Challenge Unlimited at 633-6399.
