8th annual Cemetery Crawl Aug. 20-21
The Old Colorado City History Center will sponsor the eighth annual Fairview Cemetery Crawl the weekend of August 20-21.
The event tells the stories of historical figures buried at Fairview.
“Step back into time…the late 1800s…as volunteers and actors dressed in costume portray a variety of upstanding Old Colorado City citizens who lived, spent time, or found their final resting place in this area,” states a History Center press release. “Enjoy a walking tour to hear the stories of a businessman and civic leader, a minister and his wife, a Renaissance man, a newspaperman, a madam, a soldier, a former slave, a Civil War sergeant, and a homesteader.” The times both days will be 2 to 5 p.m. The cemetery is at 1000 S. 26th St. Tickets are available at the History Center, 1 S. 24th St., Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults ($7 at the gate) and $3 for ages 12 and under.
