Buffalo Soldier demonstration at Rock Ledge July 24
A ceremony and drill on horseback by A-Troop 10th U.S. Calvary Buffalo Soldiers is scheduled at the Rock Ledge Ranch
Historic Site Sunday, July 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to a Rock Ledge press release, “Between 1866 and 1891, Buffalo Soldiers were integral to the westward movement. As history records, the Buffalo Soldiers were black troopers commanded by white officers. American Indian scouts also served with the units and a scout will accompany A-Troop at the ranch.” Admission fees to the ranch are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and teens 13-18 and $1 for children ages 6-12.
