‘Goddesses’ trail pace stepped up
A workday on the “Garden of the Goddesses” Contemplative Trail in Red Rock Canyon Open Space is scheduled Sunday, July
10, with workdays on that trail continuing every Wednesday through this month and August.
The times are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers are needed. The meeting place is the parking lot for Red Rock Canyon Open Space south of Highway 24 at High Street/Ridge Road. Originally, four workdays this summer had been scheduled for the trail - a roughly three-quarter-mile segment through the rock formations next to Sand Canyon (in the west portion of the 788.1-acre open space). However, technical construction issues have proven challenging, so extra workdays are needed “to get the trail completed by the end of the summer,” according to Coreen Toll, a leader of the effort through the Garden of the Goddesses Club.
