Old-time 4th at Rock Ledge

       An “Old-fashioned Family Fourth of July” will be celebrated at the Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site Monday, July 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
       Featured will be speeches by enactors of Abraham Lincoln (the Gettysburg Address), General William Jackson Palmer (the Declaration of Independence) and Katherine Lee Bates (talking about her inspiration for “American the Beautiful”)
       Also scheduled are carnival games in the barn, wagon rides, blacksmith demonstrations and patriotic music by the Fountain Creek Brass Band.
       Concessions are available, but people are also welcome to bring their own picnic lunches.
       Active duty and retired military and their immediate family members will be admitted free with ID.
