Free Rock Ledge concert June 17
A free concert featuring Colorado music historians and performers Mark Gardner and Rex Rideout is scheduled at Rock Ledge
Ranch Historic Site Friday, June 17, at 7 p.m.
The outdoor concert is the first in the ranch's 2005 Summer Music Series. Gardner and Rideout specialize in “re-creating” the music of the West, researching original lyrics and playing vintage instruments with historic playing styles. Other free concerts in the summer series are Jon Chandler & the Wichitones, Friday, July 15, at 7 p.m.; and the Erica Brown Band, Saturday, August 20, at 7 p.m. Rock Ledge Ranch is off 30th Street and Gateway Road in the Garden of the Gods. The phone is 578-6777. lso upcoming… The first of monthly gatherings by the local Heritage Dancers group is scheduled Sunday, June 12 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the barn. New dancers are welcome. The dances are from the post-Civil War period, according to Rock Ledge Living History Association (LHA) board member Toni Miller. “Participants are encouraged to wear period clothing as visitors to (the ranch) will observe and maybe even join the dancing,” she said.
