What do you do?
Mike Pach

Where do you work and what is your title?
I am the owner of AdventureCam Photography and Design.
What do you do there and/or what are you responsible for?
I am a landscape/nature photographer, a web site developer and a retailer of digital imaging equipment and supplies. I am responsible for all aspects of the business.
How long have you been doing this kind of work (total)? How long on the Westside?
Photography has been part of my life for 20 years. I’ve been in business for five years, three of them on the Westside.
What do you like best about it (other than quitting time)?
I really enjoy the web site design because it allows me to be creative and technical at the same time. I like the challenge of making ideas become reality on the screen.
If you could change one thing (other than pay), what would it be?
I would like to change the fact that the coffee table book based on my photography and poetry hasn’t been published yet.
What part of your work did your training/education never prepare you for?
My education never trained me for how much I would enjoy working for myself. Although running a business definitely has its challenges, I have to say this is the only job I’ve had where I can honestly say that I really like my boss.
What makes working on the Westside special?
Not only is it great to look out my office window and have a great view of the peak, but also the Westside has a character not found in any other area of the city.

“What do you do?” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you know someone who has an interesting job on the Westside (but doesn’t live here), he/she might be a candidate for this column! If you know someone who might qualify, give us a call at 471-6776.
