Public meeting on Gold Hill Mesa development/concept/plat plans May 26 at Midland School

A public meeting on the plans for Gold Hill Mesa is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 26 at Midland Elementary School, 2110 W. Broadway St..
The meeting, set up by the Colorado Springs Planning Department, is expected to last two hours, according to Senior Westside Planner James Mayerl.
The department has been sending out notices of the meeting to people owning property near the proposed project area, but anyone can come. The notice states that representatives of City Planning as well as the developer will be on hand “to review the proposal, discuss the city's development review process and to answer questions.”
The development group, Gold Hill Mesa LLC, has submitted a development plan, subdivision plan and final subdivision plat for a portion of the proposed, 214-acre, residential/commercial development north of Lower Gold Camp Road, east of 21st Street, south of Highway 24 and west of Crown Hill Mesa and various properties west of Eighth Street.
The plans, submitted to City Planning about three weeks ago, include detailed street and lot locations for a 27.15-acre, 176- residential-unit Filing 1 off Lower Gold Camp Road.
Past meetings on the proposal have largely focused on dust, traffic, health issues (related to the former gold-milling at the site) and anticipated impacts on existing neighborhoods.
