Meet a Westsider:
Drusylla Georgeson

Profession/Occupation... Director of the Pikes Peak National Bank and retired publisher of the “Banner,” of Brush, Colorado.

What I like most about the Westside is... the friendliness and it feels like home. We’ve lived here, cumulatively, 11 years.

If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... it’s growing too cosmopolitan. Although I’d like it to stay the way it is now, I know it will change.

A good movie I’ve seen recently is... I don’t go to the movies much. I saw “Real Bronco,” with John Wayne, Ricky Nelson and Dean Martin at my son’s house. It was really funny. Now... baseball... I like to watch all the sports.

The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... “Don’t do that,” which I always do.

If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... It certainly wouldn’t be a politician. I would say, Oprah Winfrey. I admire her stick-to- itism. And, she seems like a well rounded person.

The next time I travel, I’m going to... I’d like to go to Washington, D.C., because I’ve never been there. I’d like to go when the cherry trees are in bloom.

My favorite childhood memory is... eating watermelon in my grandparents’ backyard (40 acres) in North Lup, Nebraska. We’d go out in the field, pick one to eat and then have “spittin’ seeds” contests. There’s nothing like a Nebraska watermelon.

My favorite spring pastime is... gardening. I love to garden. We grow flowers and strawberries.

Something good I’ve read is.. I just finished “The Juror,” by John Grisham, which I liked. Although, I like some of his other books better. Right now, I’m reading “Rivers of Wind,” by Gary Penley. It’s about Lamar, Colorado, and growing up there as a boy.

My pet peeve is... people who don’t follow up on their commitments.

If I won the lottery, I’d... probably give it all away to good causes (especially to organizations that deal with needy, homeless animals.)
