A Cinco de Mayo Celebration is scheduled at the West Intergenerational Center, 25 N. 20th St., Thursday, May 5 from 5:30 to
8 p.m.
The free event will include recorded Spanish music with a deejay and a presentation about the occasion's history by retired Westside teacher Christina Wells. There will also be food, games and arts and crafts. The games will “allow you to use your skills in Spanish,” said Carmen Vázquez-Guy, who is coordinating the community event for the West Center. For arts and crafts, Wells will give instruction on how to make paper flowers. For more information, call 385-7925. Westside Pioneer from a press release |
