Mother’s and Kentucky Derby Day
Rick's Nursery, 600 N. 18th St., is celebrating Mother's Day from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7 with
clowns, a clown house and a chance for children to make Mother's Day gifts.
Laura Belle's, 734 N. 19th St., is holding a Kentucky Derby Day Chili Cook-Off Saturday, May 7 from 1 to 6 p.m., with proceeds going to the non-profit Wild Horse Foundation. The opening reception for an exhibition of new oil paintings by Laura Reilly will be Friday, May 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. at her gallery, 2616 W. Colorado Ave. #4. The show will continue May 7 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A membership meeting of the Old Colorado City Associates (OCCA) merchants group, requested by 10 members of OCCA earlier this month, has been rescheduled for Monday, May 2 at Puttin' on the Paint, 2501 W.
