Meet a Westsider:
Sandra Felt
Profession/Occupation...
I’m a licensed clinical social worker in private practice. I treat trauma, grief and relationship issues of all kinds. On the side, I play an upright string bass whenever I get a chance. I’m part of
the women’s bluegrass band, Blue Sage.
What I like most about the Westside is... the old Victorian houses, the big 100-year-old trees, and the individualistic, independent-minded people with their live-and-let-live attitude. If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... finishing and reopening the Cimarron bridge over 1-25. A good movie I’ve seen recently is... “The Bucket List” – funny and also thought-provoking. The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... “Don’t take any risks!” My mother told me that. If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... Alice Miller or Sark – two of my author heroes. The next time I travel, I’m going to... Banff, Alberta – this summer! I’ve always wanted to go there. My favorite childhood memory is... eating my mom’s bread pudding – yum, yum. My favorite spring pastimes are... cleaning out my flower beds so the daffodils can bloom freely. I come alive again in the spring when the daffodils begin to dance. Something good I’ve read is.. “The Dance,” by Oriah Mountain Dreamer – a book that genuinely inspires me to be who I truly am. I’ve read it several times. My pet peeve is... stealing, lying, any kind of dishonesty. Somebody just stole my garbage can! Can you believe that? If I won the lottery, I’d... take a nice long vacation and finish the book I’m writing. Meet a Westsider” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer. If you would like to be a Meet-a-Westsider (or know someone who should be), please give us a call at 471-6776. |
