Meet a Westsider:
Elizabeth Calhoun
Profession/Occupation... Owner/director of the Wooden Shoe Day Care.
What I like most about the Westside is... everything! The small town atmosphere, good neighbors, tall trees, birds, squirrels. I love it all. If I could change anything about the Westside, it would be... I can’t think of a thing I would change. A good movie I’ve seen recently is... I really haven’t seen many movies lately. I think the last one I saw was “The Grinch That Stole Christmas,” with my grandchildren. The worst advice I’ve ever gotten was... Don’t do today what you can put off for tomorrow. (It’s so easy to do.) If I could meet someone famous, I’d like to meet... John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan. Also, F.D.R., he made quite an impact on our living during the Depression. The next time I travel, I’m going to... Maine, to see my grandchildren. They are fun to work with and observe; they are so funny! My favorite childhood memory is... Picking berries with my mother and brothers and sisters. At the time, I didn’t think it was much fun, but the good jams and jellies were worth it! My favorite winter pastime is... enjoying a snowy day at home. Something good I’ve read is.. I read the Bible every day, but I think “Anne of Green Gables,” is one of my favorite books of all time. My pet peeve is... rudeness – there is no excuse for it. If I won the lottery, I’d... pay off my son’s student loans, both college and seminary. He’s worked so hard for his education and it takes so long to pay it off. Meet a Westsider” is a regular feature in the Westside Pioneer.
