Info Night for Midland IB
Midland Elementary will host an Information Night for parents interested in learning more about the District 11 school's
International Baccalaureate Primary Years program (IBPYP) Wednesday, March 16.
The event, free and open to the public, will be from 6 to 7 p.m. at the school, 2110 W. Broadway. Child care will be provided. Under District 11's choice policy, students from attendance areas outside Midland's can permit into the school. IB, as the program is called for short, is a style of education based on open-minded inquiry. Midland is the only district school to offer IB at the primary level (grades K-5). The program is in its third year at the school. Bishop, along with Midland IB Coordinator Lara Eddy, will be on hand for Information Night. “We will cover the essential components of the IB program, take a tour of the school and answer questions,” Bishop said. “We will also invite people to come back during school hours so they can meet our teachers and see us in action.” For more information, call 328-4500.
