Stratton enactor to give show at History Center March 11

       Local historical enactor Richard Marold will take on the personna of one of the Pikes Peak region's most famous early leaders in “A Visit with…Winfield Scott Stratton” Friday, March 11, at the Old Colorado City History Center.
       The show will begin at 11 a.m. The center is at 1 South 24th St. Admission is free, but donations are requested.
       Stratton was a carpenter, a prospector, Cripple Creek's first millionaire and a philanthropist who, among other favors, provided Colorado City and the region with a high-quality streetcar system. Marold plans to include Stratton's ties to Colorado City in his talk.
       Marold's family was from the gold mining district in Victor and Cripple Creek, and he is the former editor of the quarterly journal Cheyenne Mountain KIVA. Marold also portrays former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
