Monthly guided hikes of Garden and Rock Ledge in March, April & May
Called “Hiking through History,” the two-mile loop will start from and finish at the GoG Visitor & Nature Center, 1805 N. 30th St., led by Elizabeth Barber, lead interpreter for Rock Ledge. The first hike is scheduled Thursday, March 3, starting at 10 a.m.. Reservations are required at 219-0108. There is no charge, but donations are welcome. The ranch is at the southeast corner of the Garden, across 30th Street from the Visitor Center. The hike “will lead you past historic structures while you learn about some of the interesting people that lived in the Camp Creek valley,” a press release states. “Feel like you're on a private tour, learning about the fascinating and lesser known history of Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site and Garden of the Gods Park.” The other dates will be April 7 and May 5.
