Silver Key fetes Rotarians’ kitchen upgrade Feb. 22
A new stove, ovens, steamer and steamer table - courtesy of the Rampart Range Rotary Club - will be ceremonialized at the
Silver Key Senior Services kitchen Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
These new items will replace appliances that were used for many years to cook for Silver Key's Meals on Wheels program... after having originally being purchased by the now-defunct Lowell School. Replace-ments were needed because of difficulty finding repair parts for the old units, according to a press release from the non-profit agency for the elderly. The Rotarians decided to adopt the Meals on Wheels kitchen, purchasing the new cooking items as well as volunteering an estimated $20,000 worth of time to “give the kitchen a much-needed sprucing up,” the release states.
