Stovall three-peats as OCCA president
Nancy Stovall will stay on for a third year as president of the Old Colorado City Associates (OCCA) in 2005.
The owner of Pine Creek Art Gallery was elected at a meeting of the OCCA board of directors this month. OCCA members voted in the board through mail-in ballots. Other officers named by the board are Vice President Mazie Baalman of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Treasurer Julie Fabrizio of Holly Leaf, and Secretary Kris Schei of Pikes Peak National Bank. Elected as board members were Teresa Barbera of Mountain Man Nut & Fruit, Mark Burris of Colorado City Creamery, Mike Garman of Michael Garman Gallery, Carole Jourdan of Nice 'N Naughty, Kathy Read of Holly Berry House, Howard Walters of Just for You and Ginny Wesley of Mountain Moppets. Other than Stovall, Walters and Wesley, all the board members are different from those elected a year ago. OCCA organizes various events and efforts to promote shopping in Old Colorado City. The first promotion of 2005 is the Snowman Days Sale, continuing weekends through Jan. 30, in which shopkeepers are encouraged to decorate their stores with festive wintry themes involving snowmen.
