History Center schedules speakers in February, March
The Old Colorado City Historical Society (OCCHS) has scheduled two speakers in February and another in March. All will be
at the Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St. Admission is free (although donations are welcome).
The speakers and dates are as follows: Friday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. - Nancy Thaler, of the Pikes Peak Library District's Special Collections Department, will explain the historical photography in the “Reflections of the Pikes Peak Region” perpetual calendar. Saturday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. - Mel McFarland, local railroad historian and Westside Pioneer columnist, will talk on “Old Colorado City and the Midland.” Friday, March 11 at 11 a.m. - Richard Marold, a historic character actor, will portray early Colorado Springs leader/benefactor Winfield Scott Stratton, including a discussion of his connections to Old Colorado City.
