Plute first to earn NB certification while teaching in D-11
Edlyn Plute of Holmes Middle School has become the first “home-grown” District 11 teacher to earn a National Board (NB)
Certification, according to district spokesperson Elaine Naleski.
Plute's certificate, in Early Adolescence English Language Arts, is the highest credential in the teaching profession, taking three years and 400 to 600 hours of work, Naleski said. The certification is through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, whose mission is to establish “high and rigorous standards.” From a press release |
