First meeting for new church on Westside
The first meeting of what could be a new Westside church is scheduled Sunday, Jan. 4 at 9 a.m. at the West Intergenerational Center.
Leading the effort to start Crossroads City Church is Michael Goad, who (since moving here in 1975) has helped establish other churches in the area, including what is now Springs City Church in Holland Park. He has also run a second-generation custom-tile business that his father started in 1946.
“January will be an exploratory month,” he said. “Anybody is invited. We will try to gather a core of people who are interested in teaming up to start a church.”
Aiding Goad in the effort is his wife Janet.
Crossroads is to be a non-denominational, Christian charismatic church. The goal will be to focus on “what the Bible has to say,” (not leaving things out), he explained. All biblical passages “are in there for a reason.”
He said he also wants to have a church that is “proactive, serving the community any way possible.”
