Retrofitting completed for Lanosga home

HBA Cares finished retrofitting the Lanosga home in Pleasant Valley Dec. 22, allowing the family to move back in.
The work, much of it donated through the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs (HBA) Cares program, was done to meet the needs of Jeremy Lanosga, a Westside resident who became a quadriplegic as the result of a fall in the Garden of the Gods last May.
Colorado Springs City Councilman Scott Hente, who spoke at the ribbon-cutting along with County Commissioner-elect Sallie Clark, said the project shows how the community can come together in a positive way to help someone who has “gotten a raw deal” from life.
An open house afterward allowed people to go inside and see the upgrades.
