Bridge work near Garner to close a southbound lane on 8th Street Dec. 20

Dec. 18, 2018
Repairs to the 8th Street bridge over Fountain Creek between U.S. Highway 24 and Garner Street will cause a southbound right-lane closure Thursday, Dec. 20 from 7 a.m. until the end of the day.
Funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (RTA), the project will include repairs to an expansion joint and a cover plate below the bridge deck. The closure will continue just past Garner, a city spokesperson said.
“The project will conclude Thursday unless unanticipated circumstances occur,” a city press release states. “Travelers should plan on taking alternate routes.”
All construction activities are weather and resource dependent, the release adds.
