Cimarron/I-25 project closing blocks on Walnut, Cucharras for about a week

Beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec 19, a full closure is scheduled for a block of Walnut Street and Cucharras Street, for at least a week for utility work related to the Cimarron/I-25 interchange replacement project.
       The affected segments are:
       - Walnut, from the alley south of Colorado Avenue to Cucharras Street.
       - Cucharras, from Chestnut Street to its intersection with Walnut.
“There will be flaggers directing bikers and motorists during work hours,” reads a press release for the contractor, Kraemer North America, and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
The street segments are “anticipated to reopen the week of Dec. 26,” the release states.
Also scheduled frequently as the project continues (including the week of Dec. 19) are nighttime closures of streets or ramps at the interchange to allow work in different areas. For more information, the “hotline” number is 302-6781.
The $115 million project started in May 2015 and is scheduled for completion in late 2017.
