When they see Christmas lights this season, Silver Key CEO David Shaffer asked the Scouts to think of the many elderly who are living alone and in need.
The occasion also reiterated the Girl Scouts' involvement with Silver Key's holiday efforts for seniors. This is the 22nd year that Girl Scouts have made up to 3,000 ornaments for the Giving Tree program that requests practical gifts for people over 60 at Christmas.
Those interested in donating to the Giving Tree program can go to Silver Key, 2250 Bott Ave.; or call 632-1521; or visit www.silverkey.org and click on "holiday project"; or inquire at any of the 14 businesses and other entities hosting Giving Trees.
