Rock Ledge Ranch celebrates old-time Christmas at Holiday Evening Dec. 15
The Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site will evoke Christmas as it used to be at the Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site's annual Holiday Evening Saturday, Dec. 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. The historically styled 230-acre ranch off Gateway Road at 30th Street will be illuminated with about 10,000 lights, according to Ron Wright, president of the Rock Ledge friends group, the Living History Association (LHA). Among the activities will be lantern tours to the cabin (which was built about 40 years ago in the style of the 1860s), tractor rides, old-time music, blacksmith demonstrations and tours of the two historic houses (with Edwardian festivities in the Orchard House). Holiday Evening will also feature St. Nicholas in the Carriage House. Admission is $8 - free to LHA members - with discounts for seniors and children. For more information on the event or how to join the LHA, call the ranch at 578- 6777 or go to rockledgeranch.com.
