After joining the annual tree-lighting event, attended by more than 100 people in Old Town Plaza Nov. 20, Father Christmas is scheduled to start his seasonal cabin sojourn Friday, Nov. 26 from noon to 5 p.m.
There is no charge for kids to visit with Santa in the cabin, and photos are taken for free, according to the Old Colorado City Associates (OCCA) business group, which sponsors the activity. However (new this year), the cabin will have a place where people can drop off new or lightly used toys for low-income children as part of the OCCA's campaign this year with the non-profit Christmas Unlimited charity, titled “Santa Unlimited.”
Other Santa cabin dates this year will include Saturdays and Sundays Nov. 27-28, Dec. 4-5, 11-12 and 18-19; and Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 22-24. All times will be noon to 5 p.m. except Dec. 24 (noon to 3).
