Hwy 24/21st St. topic of meeting

Should the Highway 24 intersection at 21st Street intersection become a freeway-style interchange?
Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) plans for that location will be the focus of discussion at the next Highway 24 Working Group meeting in the community room at the Gold Hill Police Substation Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m.
The public is welcome to attend and make comments. CDOT and its consultants are using the Working Group's bi-weekly meetings this fall to help develop its eventual “preferred alternative” for an estimated $240 million expansion of Highway 24 between I-25 and Manitou Springs.
The most recent CDOT plans have shown Highway 24 going over 21st Street slightly north of the current intersection. Angler's Covey, the Prospector statue and Naegele Boulevard would be eliminated. Other citizen issues include pedestrian crossings, highway noise and overall scope.
