Santa, animals, chili in Nature Center's 'Bear Creek by Candlelight' Dec. 1

Nov. 21, 2017
An annual seasonal fundraiser for the Bear Creek Nature Center will be Friday, Dec. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Admission to Bear Creek by Candlelight is $5 for nonmembers. No reservations are necessary.
The center is at 245 Bear Creek Road. The phone is 520-6387.
Center Supervisor Mary Jo Lewis described Candlelight as a “family friendly” event, which includes live music, crafts, catered chili (plus hot chocolate and cookies) and Santa Claus, as well as small animals brought in by the Pikes Peak Community College Zoology Department.
The event name comes from center staff ornamenting trails near the center with candles.
If the main parking lot is full, an access road from it leads to an overflow lot.
Relying heavily on volunteers, the Nature Center is one of two operated by El Paso County Parks.
Also coming up at the Nature Center... Santa Paws, Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - a chance for a photo with your dog and Santa. The cost is $7 per picture, including a 4x6 print and digital download.
