Festive annual fundraiser, Bear Creek by Candlight, at Nature Center Dec. 7
An annual seasonal fundraiser for the Bear Creek Nature Center will be Friday, Dec. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission to Bear Creek by Candlelight is $5 for nonmembers. No reservations are necessary. The center is at 245 Bear Creek Road. The phone is 520-6387. The family-oriented event will include live music, crafts, catered chili (plus hot chocolate and cookies) and Santa Claus, as well as a wolfdog from the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Foundation. The "Candlelight" name comes from center staff ornamenting trails near the center with candles. If the main parking lot is full, an access road from it leads to an overflow lot. Relying heavily on volunteers, the Nature Center is one of two operated by El Paso County Parks. For more information, call 520-6387.
