Old Town’s Rocky Mountain Christmas starts Nov. 26

The Seventh Annual Rocky Mountain Christmas will begin in Old Colorado City Friday, Nov. 26 when Santa Claus will start greeting children at Bancroft Cabin at noon.
The weekend will also include the ceremonial lighting of the red, white and blue lights on the Honor Tree at the southwest corner of 25th Street and Colorado Avenue Saturday, at 6 p.m. Nov. 27. For the ceremony, military people are encouraged to hang ornaments on the tall blue spruce in honor of family members in the service.
The promotional activities are sponsored by the Old Colorado City Associates (OCCA) merchants group and organized by Colorado Main Events. OCCA will also be putting up Christmas lights on the avenue, and most of the roughly 100 retail shops on or near Colorado Avenue between 24th and 27th streets will have painted windows and other decorations.
