Speakers scheduled at OCC History Center Nov. 11 and 14

       Two presentations on different area subjects are scheduled at no charge Tuesday, Nov. 11 and Friday, Nov. 14 at the Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th St.
       Nov. 11, starting at 7 p.m., Old Colorado City impressionist artist Laura Reilly will discuss her “passion for Red Rock Canyon landscapes,” a press release states. She has worked with the Palmer Land Trust, which helped the city buy what is now Red Rock Canyon Open Space.
       Nov. 14, starting at 11 a.m., area writer and Pikes Peak Historical Society President Celinda Kaelin will discuss “American Indians of the Pikes Peak Region” The book “documents the archaeology and culture of the First Nation peoples prior to Zeb Pike's arrival and the later interaction of the local Ute Indians with the Comanche, Apache, Arapahoe, Kiowa, Cheyenne and Lakota Indians,” a press release states.
