School board, 2 state questions on Nov. 5 ballot for Westsiders

For the Nov. 5 mail-in election, drop-off ballot boxes are also available.
The closest box for Westsiders (and open at all times) is outside the El Paso County Citizens Service Center, 1675 West Garden of the Gods Road.
Note: The 24-hour drop-off box at the county's Downtown Branch Office, 200 S. Cascade Ave., which is normally available for such purposes, closed this week for a safety reason and it was unknown when it would reopen.
This election has only three voting opportunities for residents of the Colorado Springs Westside:
       - The choice of three candidates (out of six running) for four-year terms on the School District 11 Board of Education.
       - A yes or no vote on Amendment 66, which would create a permanent statewide tax increase providing more funds to public school districts and trigger a new formula for distribution of state funds for education.
       - A yes or no vote on Proposition AA, which would set permanent excise and sales tax rates for recreational marijuana.
According to the County Election Office, ballots must be received by 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. Voter registration is possible in person up to and including election day.
