Westside schools:
West to raise money for teen shelter; Holmes presents ‘Spoon River’ drama

West Middle School will hold a TeenFeed event Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m.
Qdoba Restaurants will be setting up a chips, salsa and chili con queso bar at the school. For $1, the students can purchase the food. All proceeds will go to the Urban Peak Colorado Springs teen shelter.
Also at the event, members of West's National Junior Honor Society will hand out information cards containing “help line” numbers for hunger and homelessness assistance.

The Holmes Middle School seventh and eighth-grade classes will present “Spoon River Anthology” Tuesday, Oct 30 at 7 pm. on the school cafeteria stage. The show, free and open to the public, is set in the early 1900s, and the actors will dress in Victorian age or post-Civil War costumes, according to Kristi Gilbreth, drama teacher.
